Sargeant to IndyCar?

On June 24, Lydia Mee of F1 Briefings covered rumors that Logan Sargeant is headed to IndyCar in 2025.

The rumors seem to have originated from motorsport writer Jeroen Demmendaal in this tweet:

Since this is the basis for all the reporting I’ve seen, I recommend taking it with one or even two grains of salt, as with any otherwise unsubstantiated rumor. It hasn’t even been confirmed that Logan will depart the team (but he should and he will).

With Williams’ eyes set firmly on one of Carlos Sainz or Valtteri Bottas, Logan will leave Formula 1 having not made much impact in terms of performance but I wish him well all the same.

IndyCar could be a fantastic move for someone who clearly has open-wheel ability and it’s a strong home for ex-Formula 1 talent now, from Marcus Ericsson to Romain Grosjean. I try not to read too much into driver personalities but Logan has always struck me as a relatively quiet individual who isn’t particularly suited to the pressure-cooker/glitz duality of Formula 1.

I’ll be hoping Mr. Demmendaal has good sources and I may just see Logan Sargeant at an IndyCar race or two in 2025.
